Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 amβ5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Functional Dentistry of Asheville at (828) 617-0380; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Asheville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Iβve been in twice so far. Everyone is very kind and friendly. Dr. Kingsbury knows what he is doing. All staff have been incredibly gentle, and concerned for my comfort through the entire process. I had a bit of work done this morning, and Dr. Kingsbury listened to my concerns about pain, and past issues in dental offices. He was very understanding, and made sure not to do a thing until I was fully numbed. I felt nothing other than a bit of pressure. Larissa was great and also very gentle, and kind throughout the process. I hadnβt been to a dentist in 17 years, and this has been such a pleasant experience.

Everyone was very nice. The waiting area was arranged very well with a plethora of plants and 3D images that the dentist creates. Great experience!

Absolutely incredible experience! This was my first time there, I was there for a new patient appointment and routine cleaning. Excuse the pictures, I had to screenshot them from a video. The office is absolutely beautiful though! All the staff were super helpful, they were very busy but attended to me as quickly as possible and we're very apologetic for any wait. I've been needing to fix a spot where I lost the tooth a few years ago, and they set me up four and affordable payment plan to get a bridge put in and were able to fit me in relatively quickly for that appointment here in a few weeks. The hygienist was super friendly and the dentist far exceeded anyone that has ever worked on my teeth. I love their holistic approach that they take, he was super knowledgeable and very encouraging about my dental health. I take pretty good care of my teeth, but there is definitely things I can work on and he helped me with that! All in all, 10/10 experience

Iβve never came out of a dentist office feeling so uplifted till today with Dr. Kingsberry. He explained and addressed any concerns and provided solutions for prevention on my part. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I listened to the music of my choice in the dental chair which eased my anxiety while waiting. I was shown my teeth on the screen so I could see exactly what they were fixing. Thanks to all and keep on smiling.

I had the best experience at Functional Dentistry of Asheville! The staff are knowledgeable and kind! I appreciated the fact that I could choose the music in the room I was in. I love that the office does not look or smell like a typical dentist office. If you are looking for a dental visit where you as a whole person are taken care of, this is the place!
